ONCODIR 2nd Plenary Meeting in Vienna, Austria

ONCODIR 2nd Plenary Meeting Advances AI-Driven Cancer Prevention Platform

From 1st-3rd July 2024 the Viennese partners from SYNYO hosted the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the ONCODIR consortium, a collaborative project focused on developing an AI-driven platform aimed at enhancing cancer prevention and early detection. The three-day event gathered partners from various medical,  technological and scientific domains to discuss the latest developments in the project, which is part of the broader Cancer Mission cluster.

ONCODIR is creating a recommendation service platform that integrates input from citizens, clinicians, and policymakers, with a strong emphasis on privacy and ethics. The platform considers factors such as lifestyle, nutrition, and economic conditions, aiming to provide personalized and effective prevention strategies.

During the meeting, partners provided updates on key initiatives, including the progress of laboratory integration tests and the mobile app designed for citizen intervention. Discussions also covered large-scale intervention pilots planned across five EU countries. These pilots, which will involve medical scientists, healthcare providers, and consortium experts, are crucial for validating the platform’s effectiveness and affordability.

As the meeting concluded, the consortium expressed optimism about the next steps, including further technical sessions and user workshops that will shape the platform’s final design and deployment.
